YG Entertainment CEO Yang Min-seok will accompany Korean President Park Guen-hye on her visit to China, YG Entertainment said on Monday.
YG said through a press release that Yang will be the only entertainment firm joining the President’s economic delegation formed of 71 business leaders, including Hyundai Motor group chairman Chung Mong-koo and LG Group Chairman Koo Bong-moo, who will visit China from June 27 to 30.
With YG’s artists including PSY, 2NE1 and Big Bang active in the global music scene, the firm’s participation in one of the largest economic delegations signifies that Korea’s cultural industries is becoming one of the key elements of Korea’s economy, the agency added.
Meanwhile, YG is planning to establish a branch in China.
YG also launched their online shopping mall named “YG e-Shop China” last December.
