Posted by Admin M [NEWS] YG Entertainment announces YG artists will appear more often on music and variety shows!6/28/2013 YG Entertainment is planning to have their artists appear more frequently on music shows. The YG artists usually made appearances only on SBS' 'Inkigayo', however Yang Hyuk Suk announced that starting with 2NE1's comeback, his artists will be coming out on more music shows. Not only that, the artists will be showing up on more variety shows as well to get closer to their fans. He said, "We will be having some in-depth discussion with our artists about appearing on variety shows, which is something we were holding back until now." SEE ALSO: 2NE1 to begin production for "Falling In Love" music video This means we'll be able to see not just 2NE1, but also Big Bang, and other YG Entertainment artists more often! Via AKP Poste by Admin M I extend my apology for the delayed post.
Before we move one, I have one piece of news for all of you. Recently we announced that the winner of K-Pop Star season 2, AKDONG MUSICIAN, signed a contract with YG Entertainment. And we are happy to announce that the second winner of the show, BANG YEDAM, has also just completed all negotiations related to signing up with YG. BANG YEDAM and his parents previously showed interest in signing the contract with our agency. So this means that both the first and second winners K-Pop Star 2 are with YG. AKDONG MUSICIAN, the siblings who are capable of both writing and composing songs, are expected to release their first album before the year ends. Meanwhile, we will be providing extensive and professional training to our 12-year-old newcomer, BANG YEDAM. Many are worried that since BANG YEDAM is still young, his voice will change once he experiences puberty. But I have never heard of anyone whose musical talents were hindered because of the changes from puberty. So there is no need to worry! Unlike gold, diamond is a stone which value depends solely on how it is carved or cut. BANG YEDAM can be compared to diamond. The three judges on K-Pop Star, including myself, were left awe-struck when we discovered the diamonds in this singer. We knew that after much professional training, he would be of an immeasurable value. We cannot say for sure if that process would take one year or even ten years, but we can assure you all that we will spare no effort to help him shine like diamond. What are the plans for G-DRAGON’s solo concert? G-DRAGON is scheduled to hold a solo concert at Seoul Olympic Gymnastics Arena for two days on August 31 and September 1. Technically, this will be G-DRAGON’s final encore concert for his World Tour. At the concert he will be performing his new songs from his 2nd album, which will be released on August 18. Since GD has been holding his World Tour concerts for the last few months, he is not planning a new concert this year. Instead, he will be devoting his energy on his album work. More details on GD’s August 18 solo album release? As you all know, August 18 is GD’s birthday. But because it is Sunday (weekend), it would be difficult to release the song online. To make it more special for the fans and GD himself, on August 18 he is scheduled to release the album on a TV music program and offline, while making the online release a little earlier, on August 14. So there are no changes in YG’s once-a-week appearance on TV music program? Was it 4 years ago that we announced it for the first time? I think it was, when 2NE1 made their debut around that time. When they made a debut we announced that YG artists would make an appearance on TV music program once a week. And for the last 4 years, the plan helped our artists carry out activities both home and abroad, which led to the increase in the number of international fans and the scale of our overseas market. On the other hand, we feel regretful that our Korean fans have a lot less opportunity to see the artists now. We are sorry that our Korean fans did not have many chances to see BIGBANG who were on a World Tour for a long time after releasing a mini album at the beginning of last year, and also 2NE1 who left Korea for World Tour after releasing just one song “I Love You” last July. So taking everything into consideration, we may come up with a new promotional method that is more suitable for us, rather than continuing the once-a-week appearance plan. From the beginning of July, 2NE1 will be seen a lot more often on TV when they release “Falling in Love”. We will be having some in-depth discussion with our artists about appearing on variety shows, which is something we were holding back until now. When will TAEYANG release his album? We are thinking beginning of September for TAEYANG’s 2nd regular album. This is the first one in 3 years since his first solo album release in 2010. Well, it’s time to go now but I will come back with more good news on the details of TAEYANG’s new album and also on BIGBANG’s other members! Stay tuned! Source: YG-LIFE Posted by: AdminG Although it was said back when the singer was enlisting that he would serve as a rifleman, aka a regular soldier with no celebrity privileges, his agency YG Entertainment later remarked that there is a high possibility that Se7en’s position may be changed since the military had been showing interest in bringing him on board the promotional department for the military. Soon after his basic training, a statement was released revealing that Se7en’s position had been changed. However, it is now being reported that his position wasn’t really ‘changed’ as Se7en had applied to be a celebrity recruit from the very beginning. In a phone call with Ajoo Economy, a rep from the Ministry of Defense said, "Even before he started his 4-week basic training, he applied to be a celebrity soldier. He was being reviewed while he was undergoing his basic training and was approved and confirmed as a celebrity soldier," revealing said that Se7en had become a celebrity soldier as soon as his basic training ended. This piece of information is being met with more disappointment from the public, since at first, they had believed that Se7en had been switched from a regular recruit to a celebrity recruit only because of the military’s decision, only to now learn that the singer himself had applied from the very beginning to become a celebrity recruit. TenAsia met with Akdong Musician who were about to get on a plane to Mongolia for a brief break following the talent show’s four month-long run. 10ASIA: How have you been since winning “K-pop Star 2”? Chanhyuk: I’m writing a song that I haven’t finished yet. I’m trying to include what Soohyun and I are going through right now into the tune. 10ASIA: What made you cry a river when the winner was announced? Chanhyuk: I didn’t know that we’re going to win because we had not aimed to win the contest. Even now, it’s only when someone asks me “Did you win the contest?” that I finally wonder, “Oh, how did we do it?” It’s after we won the contest that I’ve actually come to have real dreams about singing. Soohyun: I had close friends in Mongolia but none to share my feelings with. I’d become very close with the other contestants since we lived together so I felt sad every time somebody got eliminated. 10ASIA: What’s the biggest difference after being part of “K-pop Star 2”? Chanhyuk: That I wear glasses now? Soohyun: It’s so good that people give us discounts at restaurants. 10ASIA: Soohyun, you said you want to buy shoes with your prize money. Soohyun: I actually haven’t received the prize money yet. I don’t know what I would do with it because I didn’t expect to receive such a huge amount. The show’s chief producer Nam Seung-yong gave me shoes so I’m considering doing something else. I want to buy some clothes. (laugh) 10ASIA: So you go back to Mongolia in a few days. Chanhyuk: We’re not going to stay there for long, it’s only to take some rest. I’m going to write some songs and recharge myself to show a better me when I’m back in Korea. 10ASIA: Which song do you feel most attached among the songs you’ve introduced till now? Chanhyuk: It’s “Don’t Cross Your Legs.” Although the song brought us where we are now, we didn’t expect people to like it because I made it just for fun. 10ASIA: When was the most critical moment for you during the contest? Chanhyuk: It’s when we sang our self-written tunes “Optical Illusion” [translated title] and G-Dragon’s “One Of A Kind.” We were both flustered by the harsh reviews. Soohyun: I was surprised that Bang Yedam did much better than I thought he would with Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” 10ASIA: What is the most memorable comment from the judging panel? Chanhyuk: I remember when judge Yang Hyunsuk, the C.E.O of YG Entertainment, compared our song to ‘a picture painted by children who raise sweet potatoes in countryside.’ Soohyun: I didn’t get it. (laugh) 10ASIA: Who acted as your mentors during the contest? Chanhyuk: Our fellow contestants in the final top 10. We could relate to each other so much and we have so many memories of laughing and crying together. We once said that this experience may be tough now but that it would be a precious and blessed memory later, and I really don’t remember the tough parts anymore. It hasn’t been a long while but I miss those times already. Soohyun: My roommate Choi Yegeun. I cried in front of her in our room when I had a hard time on the show. Source & Translated by: 10ASIA |
